Universal Studios

remember i mentioned i took a day off? well, i thought i should write about it as well, after all i didn’t just hang out... i went to the universal studios, baby! (thank you, ricco from waterworld and the o.c. for letting us in haha)
so, 8am i take off to the irvine train station with my host brother – whom i made miss the doctor’s appointment for that sake – to meet, mind you, the sluttiest girl i’ve ever met. hahaha...
anyways, how naive are we? if we had rented a car, we’d spend around 100 dollars (divided by the two of us) on rental and gas, and it would’ve taken us what... 1, maybe 1 and a half hour to get there?
instead, we took the amtrak train from irvine leaving at 9.45am to los angeles, and from the train station in l.a. we took the metro to the universal city and from the metro we took a shuttle up to the park.
the waterworld show started at 1.15pm, we arrived at 1pm.
the show was really cool, it gave us a great first impression for the rest of the day, and we got some “gate a” vip passes for the other shows.
next was the tour they have around the studios.... what a load of cr... seriously. i mean, it’s nice to see how the movies are made, and where, and the sets and everything, but what’s with the tour guide shisshing us all the time??? “ghost whispers is being recorded right now, so we are entering the silent zone. please do not speak and maybe you can take a glance at jennifer love-hewitt. if you do see her, or whoever you may see walking around the set, DO NOT STAND. thank you.”
did i see love-hewitt? no. did i see jay leno? no. did i see robin williams? no. and i could go on forever with this, but i just think it’s not worth it.
i can’t deny though that it was pretty funny to drive by wisteria lane :)
next stop was the shrek show and he only thing i can say is that the first thing mariana said as we left the show was: “i think i would’ve enjoyed it more if i were younger.” in other words, what i heard was: “that was so lame.”
long story short, waterworld and DEFINETELY back to the future were worth the journey, but i do wanna believe that it’s such a huge park that i didn’t have time to see all of it.
on our way back i stopped by the hot topic store only to get a bit frustrated (like i haven’t gotten used to it) cause i found the cutest shoes on sale, but they obviously didn’t have my number. i mean, who wears a size 3 ½??? if not a toddler, of course.
we got caught by the one rain california will ever see in a year, and still had to wait in line (under the rain, yay!) for the damn shuttle to pick us up...
apart from getting us wet and cold, the rain also delayed the trains, so apparently our train back home wouldn’t arrive before 10pm... but it did!!! and that’s why we – almost – missed it.
by the time we arrived in irvine it was too late to ask whoever to give us a ride so we still had to take a cab to mariana’s house in newport beach.
basically we’re just a couple of happy newbie morons who should know better next time.
and i still don’t know what i’ll do on my day off this week, suggestions?
