In My Life - old

i don't know what's going on in other countries, but i know that brazil is going through the usual world cup fever, it happens every 4 years.

i was so hoping that brazil wouldn't qualify for the cup, but they did. now i am sending all these very negative vibes everytime they play but it's not working very well, they keep winning. i guess france might save me tomorrow.

then people judge me and say "how can you do that??? that is so not patriotic! shame on you!!!" so let me clear this one: SHAME ON ME????
as i said before, i don't know what happens in other countries, but brazil totally STOPS during the world cup. days when brazil is playing, become national holidays. do you know what is it like to see the parliament totally empty in the middle of the week because everybody is out watching a soccer game? is that even normal????

then i am going to a friend's house and someone painted a flag on the floor (most streets have flags painted on the floor now), and the brazilian flag has a tag in the center which reads "order and progress". well, the artist who painted the flag replaced this saying by "HEXA" (brazil becoming champion for the 6th time).

so i think... not only do they paint flags so we can all step on them, but they take away the order and progress from our country because being soccer champions 6 times is much more important. watching a game is more important than deciding what's best for the country. really. please. spare me.

running around screaming and making noise because brazil scored a goal is not patriotism. retarding the development of the country because of soccer matches is not love for the nation. so i think that by saying ALLEZ FRANCE!!!!!!!! and hoping deep in my heart that brazil gets out of this world cup asap is the most patriotic i could be right now.
