In My Life - old

i don't know if you've heard the news, but the situation here in brazil is hectic.

there is a war going on in the middle east and during this weekend they had around 30 deaths. here, just in one state (sao paulo), there have been 81 deaths since friday, and we're still counting.

here, where i live, they have killed some police officers and they are rioting. one bus has been burnt downtown and one of the main streets has been shut down because there were some gunshot exchange in the afternoon. all stores closed at 4pm. and at 8pm everybody will have to desert the street.

this is something that is very sad and shocking. we can't even leave our homes anymore because the bad guys are everywhere. out on the street. and the police can't control it.

the Militar Police and the mobile phone operators have cut off all phone lines (so the bad guys won't be able to communicate among them) and there have been bomb threats everywhere - including child care places.

so tonight, at midnight (Brasilia time), my friends and i will make a little chain - a prayer. to ask help to bring this chaos to an end. if you took the time to read this up to here, maybe you could take another 2 minutes to think positive too :)
